Obama and the Dems are acting worse than children

If you're a parent then I'm pretty sure that you've told your kids to do, or not do, something and they have COMPLETELY ignored you.  My kids do it and they know it is one of my biggest pet peaves.  Don't get me wrong, I am very lucky and have two GREAT kids...but they're kids.

I've tried to sit them down, calmly and explain to them that I've lived a LONG time and that I have a good reason for the things that I ask them to do or not do.  Sometimes it is to teach them a life lesson, other times it is to keep them safe and still others it is simply because I am the parent and I need things to happen a certain way to maintain the family "flow".

No matter how rational I am, no matter how many time we go over it, no matter if they say they understand or not, once a little time has passed they seem to totally forget what we talked about and do exactly what they want to do.

I hate being ignored by my kids....but they are 11 and 5 so I expect it once in awhile.

Should I have to treat my representatives in Washington, DC or Concord, NH like my 5yo daughter ?  How many times do the American people need to say that we do not like their current health care bill.  It's not that health care doesn't need improvement, but fix the parts that are broken, don't implode the entire system.

There are reasons that we don't want the current plan in Congress.  Many folks under 30 are at the peak of their health and are willing to pay out of pocket and don't want to lose a huge chunk of their paycheck for health insurance.  Why should they be fined ?  Many families, like mine, are willing to pay extra to get even better health care coverage.  Why should we lose our "cadilac" plan ?  Seniors are concerned about cuts to their long standing plans in order to help pay for the new plan.

I have a physical disability and use a wheelchair.  I've been without health insurance because of my "pre-existing condition" and it is a scary thing.   I see doctors....LOTS of doctors and take many costly prescriptions.  I also have two young kids in the public school system and they bring every sniffle, cough and virus home the rest of the family.  My wife and I both have decent jobs with middle class salaries and good health care plans but we still choose to pay a considerable portion of our income to purchase the best health care plan that we can get for our family.  We pay more because we know we beat our health insurance with a club throughout the year and I was always taught that you get what you pay for.

I don't want the government telling me that my family has to accept a bare bones crappy coverage plan even if we are willing to pay for a better plan.  We work hard to earn our money and it is just that...OUR MONEY.  The government already taxes us into virtual poverty and then spends our tax dollars on programs that speak directly against our values and beliefs.

So I say to my "Representatives"...Sit down, be quiet and LISTEN !  You are WRONG !  We do understand what you are trying to do and WE DO NOT AGREE !

If you don't start listening to the people, we are going to treat you like the children that you are acting like and in November of 2010 we are going to give you a TIME OUT !
